The Australian Government introduced the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) to provide financial assistance for children’s and teenagers’ dental care. This program recognises the importance of taking care of oral health and provides access to basic dental services. The CDBS covers dental care up to $1,052 (This amount is effective January 2023, and may change every year.) over two consecutive years for children aged 0–17 and eligible for Medicare.
Parents can use CDBS for teeth cleaning, X-rays, tooth fillings, and other basic procedures. It is important to note that calendar years are taken into consideration when using the funds. If a full amount isn’t used within two calendar years, the remaining funds may not be used and you must wait for a new two-year period.
Parents need not worry about paying the total cost of dental services out-of-pocket at Magical Smiles Bacchus Marsh. Ask us today about the CDBS!
Similar to the CDBS’ goals, we want everyone to get access to better dental care through payment options and dental funds. Offering this scheme to our patients provides the following benefits:
Finding a dental clinic that participates in government schemes, such as the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, helps promote oral health by providing access to dental care that may otherwise be out of reach financially.
You don't have to apply, as the Australian Government checks every January to determine eligibility for your kid. If they're qualified, you will receive a letter. You can also check it through myGov or call the Medicare program line.
