What a Snap-On Smile actually is.
A Snap-On Smile is a thin, durable resin appliance made by a dental laboratory from impressions of your upper or lower teeth. It clips on using the natural contours of your teeth, held by light tension rather than adhesive, so there's no drilling and no preparation of your teeth.
Because it sits over the top, it doesn't move your teeth or fix what's underneath. Decay or gum disease still needs its own treatment first. Most people wear it through the day and take it out at night, for cleaning and for meals.
How does it actually compare?
Snap-On Smile sits alongside two more familiar options, porcelain veneers and dentures, and it isn't a straight swap for either. Here's what each one is actually for.
Snap-On Smile
Covers staining, gaps, chips and minor misalignment by clipping over your own teeth. No drilling, fully removable, usually ready after two appointments a few weeks apart. It doesn't move teeth or treat what's underneath, and many appliances last three to five years with care.

We check the health of your teeth and gums and your bite, talk through your goals, and confirm Snap-On Smile is a sensible option before anything is made.
02 · Impressions.
Detailed impressions of the arch or arches you want covered capture the shape and contours of your teeth.
03 · Made by a dental laboratory.
The laboratory makes a thin, tooth-coloured resin appliance from your impressions. This usually takes a few weeks.
04 · Fitting & adjustments.
Your dentist checks fit, comfort and appearance, and makes small adjustments until it feels right.
05 · Living with it day to day.
Worn through the day, taken out at night and for cleaning and meals, and reviewed at check-ups, because changes in your teeth or gums can affect the fit.

Because there's no tooth preparation, the cost of Snap-On Smile goes into making and fitting the appliance. Our estimator starts from an indicative $2,000 per arch, while porcelain veneers are priced per tooth from $1,700 (September 2026 figures). The final figure depends on how many teeth are covered and whether you choose one arch or both, and we confirm it in writing after examining your teeth. Payment plans can spread it into smaller, regular amounts.
