Children's dentistry in Bacchus Marsh, at their pace.

From a baby's first visit through to the teenage years, our Gisborne Road team looks after growing smiles without hurrying anyone. Regular check-ups catch small things early, eligible children can be bulk-billed under the CDBS, and if your child is anxious, just tell us — we'll slow down.

Why start early

Early visits help small things stay small.

Children's teeth change constantly — teething, wobbly baby teeth, adult teeth arriving and a jaw that keeps growing. Regular visits let us watch that development, notice early signs of decay, and help your child get comfortable with the dentist before they ever need more than a clean.

At each visit we talk through what we're seeing and what to watch for at home, from brushing and snacks to thumb-sucking. We'll tell you if early help might be useful down the track, or if what you've noticed is simply part of growing up.

Our Bacchus Marsh team — Principal Dentist Dr Rachna Yadav, Dr Amolak Deep, Dr Ankita Morjaria and Dr Christian Eskander — works with children of all ages, and every one of our dentists is AHPRA-registered.

If you've been told your child may have a tie, our lip and tongue tie page explains how we assess it.

A calm start matters more than getting everything done on day one.

If they're nervous

Nervous is normal. Tell us early.

“We don't rush appointments or use words that might create unnecessary worry.”

Children pick up on tone, body language and how the adults around them react. So we explain each step in simple, clear words, introduce instruments slowly, and let younger children get comfortable before anything happens.

Older kids and teens are brought into the conversation about their own teeth. If your child has had a hard visit before, has sensory needs or simply dreads new places, mention it when you book and we'll plan a quieter, slower appointment.

Medicare & the CDBS

Eligible children can be bulk-billed.

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is an Australian Government program for eligible children aged 0 to 17. It covers basic dental care — check-ups, X-rays, cleans, fissure sealants, fillings, root canal treatment and extractions — up to $1,158 over two calendar years, or $1,132 if your child's two-year period began in 2025 (Services Australia's amounts, from its page last updated 15 April 2026).

We check eligibility at your child's first visit and claim directly through Medicare where possible, so eligible families usually have nothing to pay for covered services. How bulk-billed eligible care works →

Eligibility is decided by Services Australia, not the clinic. The Australian Government sets the cap and indexes it each year on 1 January. The CDBS doesn't cover orthodontic or cosmetic dental work.

Good questions

What Bacchus Marsh parents ask us first.

The Australian Dental Association recommends a first visit when the first tooth appears or by the first birthday, whichever comes first. Early visits are short and focus on getting familiar rather than treatment. If your child is older and has never been, that's fine — we start wherever they are.
Most children do well with a check-up every six months, though some need to come more often depending on how their teeth are developing and their risk of decay. Your dentist will suggest a schedule that suits your child.
For eligible children, yes. Under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, basic services such as check-ups, X-rays, cleans, fillings and extractions can be covered up to $1,158 over two calendar years, or $1,132 if your child's two-year period began in 2025, according to Services Australia's page last updated 15 April 2026. We check eligibility at the first visit and claim directly through Medicare where possible, so covered services usually have nothing to pay on the day. Anything outside the scheme is quoted first.
That's common, and it's okay. We explain things in simple words, introduce the instruments slowly and let your child explore at their own pace. If they only sit in the chair on the first day, that still counts as a good start.
Yes. Parents can stay close if that helps, or step back if their child would like some independence. We'll work out together what suits your child best.
No. The Child Dental Benefits Schedule doesn't cover orthodontic or cosmetic dental work, so braces and Myobrace sit outside it. We'll talk you through costs and payment options before anything starts.
