Veneers in Bacchus Marsh that still look like you.

A chipped front tooth. A gap you keep out of photos. One tooth that has turned a shade darker than its neighbours. Veneers can cover concerns like these, but they are not the answer for everyone. Your first visit at our Gisborne Road clinic is a conversation about whether they suit your teeth.

You're not the only one

The tooth you notice before anyone else does.

Most people who ask about veneers can point to the exact tooth. It shows up in every photo and every shop window, even if nobody else has mentioned it.

A veneer is a thin, custom-made shell, in porcelain or tooth-coloured composite resin, bonded over the front of a tooth to change its colour, shape or length. At Magical Smiles Bacchus Marsh, a dentist checks your teeth and gums first, because decay or gum disease needs treatment before any cosmetic work.

What actually changes

When did you last smile first, before deciding whether to?

For most people the tooth is not really the point. The point is the small check before a photo, or keeping your lips closed when you laugh.

We can't promise a particular result, because every smile is planned individually. Good cosmetic dentistry starts with what is realistic for your teeth, and we explain that plainly before you decide anything.

Different shells, different jobs

Veneers aren't one thing. Here's what we offer.

"Veneers" covers a few quite different treatments. Here is the plain-English version of each, so your consultation starts from an informed place.

01 / One visit

Composite Veneers

Tooth-coloured resin applied directly to the tooth, then shaped and polished, usually in a single appointment. It keeps more of the natural tooth and is simpler to repair or adjust later.

Often suits: small chips, minor gaps or uneven edges, or a first step you can build on later.
02 / Lab-made

Porcelain Veneers

Made by a dental laboratory from impressions or a digital scan, then bonded at a second visit. Temporary veneers protect your teeth while the porcelain is made.

Often suits: several front teeth that need to match, or staining that whitening has not shifted.
03 / Removable

Snap-On Smile

A custom appliance that clips over your own teeth and comes out for meals and cleaning. It changes how your teeth look while you wear it, with no drilling.

Often suits: trying a new look first, or wanting nothing permanent yet.
04 / One tooth at a time

Single-Tooth Veneer

Sometimes only one tooth needs attention. A single veneer, sometimes with whitening on the teeth around it first, can bring one tooth back in line with the rest.

Often suits: one chipped, stained or misshapen tooth among healthy, even neighbours.

These are general descriptions, not a diagnosis. The option that suits you depends on your teeth, bite and goals, and your dentist confirms it at your consultation.

Be honest with yourself

Composite or porcelain: which is worth asking about?

Neither option is better in every case. They solve different problems, and your dentist confirms what fits at your consultation.

Composite may suit you if…

  • —You'd like a change without removing much natural tooth.
  • —The concern is small: a chip, an uneven edge or a gap you'd like softened.
  • —You'd prefer one appointment and a simpler first step.
  • —You'd like the option to repair or build on the result later.

Porcelain may suit you if…

  • —Several front teeth need to match in shape and shade.
  • —Staining has not responded to professional whitening.
  • —You understand the enamel removed for porcelain cannot be replaced.
  • —You're comfortable with two visits and temporary veneers in between.

Many people arrive sure of which one they want. Once the teeth have been examined, the honest answer is sometimes a mix of both, or neither yet. That is a useful result of a first visit.

A calm treatment room at Magical Smiles with a soft, spa-like feel

An unhurried first visit, with time for your questions.

What actually happens

Your first visit is a conversation, nothing more.

You don't need to know which veneer you want, or whether you want one at all. Bring the question and we will look at the teeth with you.

1

We listen and examine

You show us the teeth that bother you and tell us what you'd like to change. We check your teeth and gums and tell you honestly whether veneers fit, or whether something simpler might do the job.

2

We map out your options

If veneers make sense, you'll see which type, how many teeth, how many visits and an itemised cost. We can also explain payment options such as Afterpay, Zip, Humm and the National Dental Plan.

3

You decide in your own time

There's no pressure to book on the day. When you're ready, whether that's this week or next year, we book the next step at our Bacchus Marsh clinic.

Making it manageable

Understand the options before you decide.

Know the numbers before you decide anything.

Veneers are priced per tooth, so the total depends on how many teeth are involved and whether any work is needed first. We give you an itemised written quote before treatment. Payment plans through Afterpay, Zip, Humm and the National Dental Plan can spread the cost, subject to each provider's approval and terms.

Need help affording care? SuperCare may be an option.

SuperCare is an external service that helps some patients apply to access superannuation for clinically necessary treatment. Eligibility is decided by the Australian Taxation Office, not by our clinic, and early release permanently reduces your retirement savings, so get independent financial advice first. Learn more

A gentle question

If nothing changes, where will that one tooth be in six months?

Still the first thing you notice? Still turned away from the camera? Finding out what is possible takes one conversation. When you're ready, here's how to start.

Good questions

What people ask about veneers.

Veneers are thin, custom-made covers bonded to the front of a tooth to change its colour, shape or length. Composite veneers are tooth-coloured resin shaped directly on the tooth, usually in one visit. Porcelain veneers are made by a dental laboratory and fitted over two visits. A dentist checks your teeth and gums first to see whether veneers suit you.
Composite is built up on the tooth in the chair and is easier to repair or adjust later. Porcelain is made off-site from impressions or a digital scan, resists staining, and needs a thin layer of enamel removed first, which cannot be undone. Your dentist will explain which suits your teeth, bite and budget.
As at September 2026, our budget estimator uses indicative starting figures of $695 per composite veneer and $1,700 per porcelain veneer. Your total depends on how many teeth are involved and any work needed first, and you receive an itemised written quote after your examination. Health funds usually treat veneers as cosmetic, so check your cover before you book.
Porcelain veneers are a long-term commitment, because the enamel removed to fit them does not grow back and the tooth always needs a covering afterwards. Composite work usually removes little or no tooth structure. All veneers wear over time and eventually need repair or replacement.
Sometimes. A single veneer can suit one stained, chipped or misshapen tooth when the teeth beside it are healthy and even. If the neighbouring teeth are darker, your dentist may suggest whitening them first so the veneer can be matched to the lighter shade.
Clinical perspective

Your plan should be individual.

Cosmetic care at Magical Smiles Bacchus Marsh is led by Dr Rachna Yadav, Principal Dentist (AHPRA DEN0001046139). She holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, is an active member of the Australian Dental Association, and her ongoing training includes anterior composite and smile-design courses.

She works alongside Dr Amolak Deep, Dr Ankita Morjaria and Dr Christian Eskander, general dentists at our Gisborne Road clinic. Every cosmetic plan starts with an examination, and your dentist explains the risks and the alternatives before you decide.

Questions worth reading up on

The ones that come up at every consult.

Veneers invite a lot of sensible questions. How veneers can change the look of a smile is a good place to start, and our step-by-step veneers guide walks through the four main types, from consultation to bonding. If you want to know what the first days feel like, our veneer recovery guide covers healing and aftercare.

Some questions are about fit: choosing between crowns and veneers matters when a tooth is damaged as well as discoloured. Some are about scale: if only one edge is chipped, composite bonding may be a smaller first step than a veneer, and as at September 2026 our estimator starts it at $250 per tooth. Others are about appearance, and what helps veneers look natural sets that out.

And the questions people think to ask later are about upkeep: caring for veneers day to day, and habits that help them last.
