All-on-X Fixed Arch
Fixed to the implants, so it stays in day and night. You brush and clean it every day like natural teeth, and come in for regular reviews.
Maybe your denture moves when you eat, or you've stopped ordering certain foods when you're out. All-on-X, which includes All-on-4, uses a small number of implants to hold a fixed arch of teeth. If a removable option suits you better, an implant-retained denture clips onto implants for extra stability. We'll talk through both before anything is decided.
A denture can do a lot, but there's a difference between managing and not thinking about it at all. If a few of these sound familiar, it's worth a relaxed conversation about implant-supported options. You'd be far from the only one having it: the AIHW reports that in 2017–18, 4.0% of Australians aged 15 and over had lost all of their natural teeth, rising to 21% of people aged 75 and over.
All-on-X is a fixed, full-arch bridge held in place by a small number of implants in one jaw. All-on-4 is a common version: four implants, two towards the front and two towards the back, support the whole arch. Some jaws need more implants, depending on bone volume and jaw shape, which is why the general name is All-on-X.
Because the arch is fixed to the implants, you don't take it out at night or use adhesive. That's quite different from a conventional denture, and it's worth comparing with a removable implant-retained denture too, which is covered below.
Both use implants to improve on a conventional denture. The main difference is whether your teeth come out at night or stay in all the time.

Usually two to four implants hold a denture that clips firmly into place. It's more stable than a conventional denture and still comes out for cleaning each day.
Which option suits you depends on bone volume, general health, and how much a fully fixed result matters to you. Suitability and results vary between individuals, and we'll confirm the details with you at your consultation.
Full-arch treatment takes more planning up front, spread over a realistic number of appointments at our Bacchus Marsh clinic.
Consultation & 3D imaging
We check the bone across the whole arch with 3D imaging, such as a cone beam CT scan, review your general health, and talk through fixed and removable options.
Any preparation needed
Bone grafting or a sinus lift is discussed if your scan shows it's needed, which is more common after years of missing teeth or denture wear. Teeth that can't be kept may need to come out as part of the plan.
Placing the implants
A small number of implants are placed in planned positions in the jaw, then given time to bond with the bone before your final teeth are fitted.
Fitting your new teeth
Your fixed arch or implant-retained denture is made, fitted and checked for bite, comfort and appearance.
Review & ongoing care
Each supporting implant is checked at your reviews, to pick up any early signs of peri-implantitis.
After years of missing teeth or wearing a denture, the jawbone across an arch can gradually shrink, because there are no roots left to keep it active. This is common in people considering All-on-X or an implant-retained denture, more so than for a single missing tooth.
Bone grafting rebuilds volume where it's needed, so the implants holding your new teeth have a stable base. 3D imaging of the whole arch shows exactly where grafting is needed, and where it isn't.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, please seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
For an upper All-on-X or implant-retained denture, the maxillary sinus affects the back implant positions. When upper back teeth have been missing for a long time, the sinus floor can sit close to the bone.
A sinus lift gently raises the sinus lining and places graft material underneath, adding the bone height needed at the back of the arch. It only applies to the upper jaw, and we only recommend it when your imaging shows it's needed. See the sinus lift page for more.

A fixed arch or implant-retained denture depends on every implant holding it, so we check each implant at your reviews. Inflammation around one of them, called peri-implantitis, doesn't automatically affect the others, and it's usually found early. Cleaning under a fixed arch is different from cleaning natural teeth, and we'll show you how. To compare all the implant options, see our overview of dental implants in Bacchus Marsh.
If we find peri-implantitis on a supporting implant, treatment can include laser-assisted cleaning of that surface, along with a review of your home care. Peri-implantitis care is available at our Bacchus Marsh clinic — read the peri-implantitis laser page →
Full-arch treatment is a bigger investment than a single implant, so it's fair to want a figure up front. As at September 2026, All-on-X at our clinic starts from $26,000 per arch. The final cost depends on whether you choose a fixed arch or an implant-retained denture, the number of implants, and whether you need extractions, grafting or a sinus lift. Payment plans can spread the cost into smaller, regular amounts.

About the estimator: it gives an indicative figure based on a typical starting price per arch. It is not a quote. Each plan is priced once we've assessed your jaw with 3D imaging, and bone grafting or a sinus lift is costed separately if needed. You'll see the exact cost in writing before you agree to treatment. Online, the estimator stops at plans totalling $12,000 with Humm's fees included, so a full arch will show as above its range; call us and we'll work through a real plan with you. Repayment figures are illustrative and use Humm/NDP's own plan-fee formula for the term selected, so Humm's fees are already included. Finance depends on Humm's own eligibility criteria and approval, which may not be granted.
We set out All-on-X and implant-retained dentures side by side, so you can choose what suits your life.
3D imaging checks the bone across your jaw, so grafting or a sinus lift is only suggested where it's needed.
Every supporting implant is checked at regular reviews at our Gisborne Road clinic, with laser-assisted peri-implantitis care available if needed.
A consultation with 3D imaging is usually enough to tell whether a fixed arch or an implant-retained denture suits you better. If you'd like to ask something first, give the clinic a call.
