Afterpay is a buy-now-pay-later service that may let eligible patients at Magical Smiles Bacchus Marsh split treatment costs into four payments, subject to its approval process and terms.
How it works
Afterpay's Pay in 4 splits a purchase into four interest-free payments over six weeks. Afterpay pays the practice in full, you pay the first instalment of about 25% at your appointment, and the other three are deducted automatically from your nominated payment method about every two weeks.

Who can use it
You must be over 18, set up an Afterpay account and link a payment method. Afterpay verifies your identity electronically and runs a credit check through illion when you join.
Approval is not automatic. Afterpay applies an approval process to every order, not just your first one, and new customers start with a low spend limit that may rise with on-time payments. Check your available spend limit in the Afterpay app before your appointment, so you know whether it covers your quote.
Fees if a payment is missed
- No interest or annual fees apply to Pay in 4 when you pay on time.
- On orders of $40 or more, a missed payment attracts a $10 late fee, plus $7 if it is still unpaid seven days later.
- Late fees are capped at 25% of the order or $68 per order, whichever is lower.
- A missed payment pauses your Afterpay account until your payments are up to date.
- You can reschedule a Pay in 4 payment up to three times a year in the Afterpay app.
